On the 27th October, 1940 the first competition of our Club was held at Sandgate Golf Club when 44 players participated in this event. At the conclusion of play a meeting was held and the Hole-in-One Club of Qld was established with Mr Clarrie Dixon as Secretary. He held this position until 1949 when he was appointed President.

Dixon Plumridge Trophy

The Hole-In-One Club of Queensland became a fully Incorporated Body on 15th January 1996. Every year since its inception, the Hole-In-One Club of Qld. holds up to six Competitions which are played at some of Queensland’s best Golf Courses. We play from Kingaroy to the NSW Border. In 1996, we launched the Northern Region, centred around Townsville Golf Club, which is still going strong. This initiative was designed to provide regular Hole-In-One Club Events, with our support, for those Club Members who may not otherwise be able to play in our official Games further South.

We play for 4 trophies each year including Club Championship and the Dixon-Plumridge Trophy.

Charlie Earp

The Hole-In-One Club of Qld is famous for its relaxed, friendly atmosphere, together with the thrill for new Members of playing Golf with some of the most competent Golfers in the great Game. It is indeed a very special and unique Club and is especially popular because of its “family” atmosphere, where lifelong friendships have formed between us all.

In 2008, we were honoured and proud to have the Golf Great Professional, Charlie Earp, take on the role of being our Club Patron. Charlie is a very active supporter of our Club, and is at most of our Games during the year, despite his very busy Golfing commitments with Greg Norman Foundation, North Queensland Junior Golf, and many other Golf related organisations, around Australia and overseas.

The Club owes its success to many members and associates since its establishment. Membership is open to all golfers who have holed-in-one during competition play and were at the time of holing-in-one, members of a golf club affiliated with the Queensland Golf Union or similar body.
